On the afternoon of February 28th, president’s assistant Kan Yunchao visited JI to check and inspect the start of the new semester, and listen to the report of the work, accompanied by people responsible for president’s office, office of laboratory and equipment management, office of teaching affairs, and school of teacher’s education. Prof. Yu Xinguo, Dean of the JI, and Mr. Wu Helin, Deputy Dean of JI attended the meeting.

Prof. Yu Xinguo reported on the medium and long-term development plan of JI and emphasized the importance of scientific research for the future development of JI. He said that JI will accurately grasp the excellent situation of the development of information technology industry, combining with the characteristics of the superior disciplines of CCNU and UOW, and we will apply some new programs such as educational technology, cyber security in the future, focus on the "Belt and Road" international student market and carry out postgraduate education at the doctoral level.

Mr. Wu Helin, on behalf of JI, reported the work around the teaching arrangements for the new semester, the operation and maintenance of teaching facilities, logistical support, teacher-student ideological development during the winter vacation. He also introduced the discipline construction, new campus construction, teacher team, etc. and mentioned a few difficulties and challenges faced by JI.

Mr. Kan and members of the inspection team responded to JI’s report. Everyone unanimously agreed that the establishment of JI is an important part of the school's new campus planning. They hoped that JI can combine the strategic development ideas of the university with “one body and two wings，building a high-level university” and proposed the basic framework for the future construction according to JI’s own development characteristics. Kan stated that the school has high hopes for JI. The school will further organize seminars on the issues raised by the college, explore reasonable plans to coordinate and resolve the difficulties and problems as soon as possible to provide a strong guarantee for the development of the college.

After the meeting, Kan and his team also visited the newly-built students’ laboratories.
