Time 1 : 14:00-16:00, Dec 10(Friday) & Time 2: 14:00-16:00, Dec 17(Friday)
Speaker: Dr. Jun Tong
Speakers Information:
Jun Tong received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and the Ph.D. degree from City University of Hong Kong. Jun is currently a Senior Lecturer in the University of Wollongong, Australia. His research interests include statistical signal processing and its applications to wireless communication systems.
Overview:
Future wireless communication systems may employ large bandwidth, massive antenna arrays to support high-rate data transmissions over time-varying environments. This creates high-dimensional signals and parameters that need to be estimated from limited observations. Regularisation has proven effective for solving such problems in the high-dimensional regime. In this talk, we report some related studies, including low-complexity MIMO detection, data-driven approaches for covariance matrix estimation with low-sample supports, and robust channel estimation for hybrid millimetre wave systems.
