Joint Institute is a Sino-foreign cooperatively-run institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, aiming to cultivate international high level talents with innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities and conduct cutting-edge and practical scientific research. It is jointly founded by Central China Normal University and University of Wollongong, Australia. With the principle of "high starting point, full integration and new mode", Joint Institute, having advantages of the two universities, promotes the cultivation of talents by conducting high-level research, employs excellent teachers from all over the world, and creates international standard conditions of scientific research and education.
Joint Institute was established under the guidance of new development strategy of CCNU, that is , to promote better and faster development of CCNU by internalization and informatization, to further strengthen the construction of distinctive engineering and to achieve the goal of becoming a research-oriented high-level university with distinctive characteristics. Relying on first-class teachers, a full set of foreign curriculum and academic standards, and English teaching environment, Joint Institute provides excellent talents for related industries in Wuhan Optical Valley, Central China and the whole country.
