Central China Normal University Wollongong Joint Institute (hereinafter referred to as CCNU-UOW JI) is set up jointly by Central China Normal University (CCNU) and University of Wollongong, Australia (UOW). JI is a Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run institution approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It aims to cultivate international high-level talents with innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities. CCNU-UOW JI has been offering master’s degree in Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering Since 2016.

Computer science and telecommunication engineering are two majors offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences (EIS) at UOW.

CCNU-UOW JI Double Degree Programs
The CCNU-UOW JI offers a 2-year Double master’s programs in either Computer Science or Telecommunication Engineering, which Once the graduation requirements are met, students will graduate with 2 degrees, one from CCNU and one from UOW respectively.

Computer Science
The Master of Computer Science will provide you with the skills and ability to solve complex real world problems by integrating computer science methods with effective management strategies, and by developing and deploying computer applications. During this degree you will be able to put theory into practice with an individual capstone project.

As a graduate of this program, you will be able to solve complex real-world problems by integrating computer science methods with effective management strategies. Through developing and using computer applications, you will be able to apply key information and expert judgement in computer software design to communicate knowledge, ideas and procedures to IT staff and external stakeholders. You will develop independent learning strategies to keep abreast of innovations in technology and computer science, industry trends and standards.

Telecommunications Engineering
The Master of Engineering (Telecommunications) provides graduate Engineers with discipline-specific knowledge and technical skills in advanced telecommunications engineering. You will learn the technological and competitive skills needed in designing and engineering innovative modern telecommunications systems and networks. You will gain an understanding of the principles of telecommunications engineering, including the planning and management of telecommunications networks. You will acquire mathematical and computational skills necessary to solve technical and theoretical problems.
Provisional accreditation by Engineers Australia is currently being sought for the Master of Engineering (Telecommunications Engineering) program offered at CCNU-UOW JI.
This Degree
The Master of Engineering delivers expert skills and applied competencies required for the professional engineer. It is designed to train and enhance professional practice, advance technical and specialist skills, and provide an opportunity to put theory into practice with applied projects and research. The degree also delivers communication, strategic and project management skills essential to the practising engineer.

Entry Requirements
1. Academic requirements
Recognized bachelor’s degree with an equivalent average mark of 70% in any area. Applicants with other qualifications and substantial relevant professional experience may be considered.
2. English language requirements:
In addition to the academic requirements, applicants must satisfy the English language requirements of UOW. Applicants must achieve overall 6.5 IELTS or equivalent.

Applicants who meet all academic requirements and acquire 6.0 on IELTS test (or its equivalent) will get a conditional offer. Applicants can be admitted to the degree program upon successfully completion of an English for Tertiary Studies course which is delivered by CCNU-UOW Joint Institute in China.
