Afterwards, Liu Sannyuya, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence in Education, Executive Deputy Director of National Engineering Research Center for E-Learning and Executive Deputy Director of National Engineering Research Center of Educational Big Data, delivered an opening address.
Liu Sannyuya said that in the post-epidemic era, countries around the world were paying more attention than ever to the technological innovation and development of intelligent education. With the gradual prevalence of personalized learning around the world, the innovation of personalized teaching model has become one of the 14 grand challenges for engineering in the 21st century. Therefore, “AI plus Education” has become a national strategy in many countries and has attracted a lot of attention from academia and industry. He expected that this Summer School would inspire young students to pay attention to the frontier issues in the field of “AI plus Education” and to engage in closer research collaboration and study through mutual exchanges.
After the opening ceremony, Dean of JI Professor Yu Xinguo gave a lecture with the topic of “Artificial Intelligence in Education and Artificial Intelligent Research” to the students.
According to the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, this International Summer School was promoted and leveled up based on the summer schools jointly held by CCNU and UOW in the past three years, which was held for our global partners, achieving a double upgrade in scale and level. Students of the International Summer School would receive academic credits recognized by their schools upon successful completion of their studies.
The CCNU International Summer School 2022 on Artificial Intelligence in Education will be jointly held by CCNU and UOW, lasting for two weeks starting from June 27th to July 8th. Students will be feasted with the lectures given by famous professors and scholars from seven internationally renowned universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, George Mason University, University College London and Monash University. Students also experienced Chinese language, Chinese traditional culture and art such as Chinese paper-cutting and Tai Chi, and visited the campuses of CCNU and UOW online. In addition, under the supervision of our young teachers, students, divided into groups according to academic background and interests, carried out activities and gained practical experience in research.
