Lei Wang
Academic Qualifications
Lei Wang received the B.Eng and M.Eng from Southeast University, China in 1996 and 1999, respectively, and the Ph.D. from School of EEE in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2004.
Working Experience
He is a professor of School of Computing and Information Technology at University of Wollongong. He leads the group VILA (Visual Information Learning and Analysis) and is a member of Centre for Artificial Intelligence in UOW. His research interest lies in machine learning, pattern recognition and computer vision.
Research Interests
For machine learning and pattern recognition, he is interested in supervised learning, high-order feature representation learning, and deep learning based methods. For computer vision, he is interested in content-based image retrieval, generic image categorisation, and medical image analysis. Besides, he has broad interest in the topics in the fields of artificial intelligence and data science.
